Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Yeah, the announcements are neither new nor consistent. Had a few pass me last week when I was close enough to a station that I should have heard something, but nothing. And I was hearing them regularly for the last few months. So who knows 🤷‍♀️

More up on my site
Finally made it to the east end to look at the testing of the LRVs and no clue what schedule they were running at but not as bad as Finch, I notice the stations screens were saying 5 and 6 minutes as I move on going east

A few cars sat as much as 3 minutes at the station going east.

The design of the lower concourse level is symmetrical. There's closed off walkway entrance in the same place on the Southbound Line 1 platform as on the Northbound Line 1 platform.

Thanks, not sure why I have not noticed it! Maybe it's more boarded off than the northbound side. Also they are doing the escalators on that soutbound side so there is a bit more construction chaos.

I don't find the arrival displays to be accurate, I've seen the numbers not change for minutes on end, display 40 minutes until the next train, etc. Definitely not programed to the schedule but also not usually correct if it's live tracking
I don't think they have been flipped over to live tracking yet. I think they are still working off a test data set.

The displays at the above ground stops appeared reasonably accurate when I drove by on the last Saturday in September. I could also hear platform destination announcements.

Exactly as we would expect based on the displays anywhere else throughout the TTC system.

Literally - I have started timing the next train signs out of boredom. The TTC clearly has bigger issues with train spacing than these signs would make you believe. 4 mins regularly becomes 6 mins, 6 mins 8-10, etc.

What’s particularly aggravating is that it is (at least for me) a consistent underestimation of the wait times…. But maybe that’s just my luck.

Has it always been like this? I always thought wait times would get more accurate with ATC on line 1.

Hoping line 5 is much better but I am curious about those at grade stops…

Nvm not really line 5 related, sorry all.

For what it's worth, they were stopping at Lebovic earlier.

They had announcements on the platform telling people the car wasn't in service and not to board.

I do believe they were testing.
"The following train is not stopping here. Please stand back. Neither is the next one, or the one after that. It will never stop here. Go home. Le train suivant ne s'arrête pas ici. Veuillez reculer. Ni le prochain, ni celui d'après. Il ne s'arrêtera jamais ici. Rentrez chez vous."

The TTC’s website says the 103 Mt. Pleasant North is being restored, with the 74 rerouted to Eglinton Station. Not seeing any of the other changes yet.
The notice is also up for the 88 South Leaside being rerouted onto Eglinton to serve Laird Station.

If anyone knows this area, yes it's the super congested 5-10 minute to get through area for eastbound traffic. This route will suffer in hell.
