I wish this station retained a retail component, or the stop at Laird.

I thought the east part of the main station building (currently the site office) was going to be retail. Wasn't McDonald's going to return? Or maybe that was in the original plan back a decade or so ago..

Good question. It's been a long time since I saw those plans. I recall retail being envisioned for one of the stations in Leaside, but I thought it was for the one east of here. (I miss that plaza, and this McDs!)

Signs of activity this morning: four workers fixing/replacing paving stones. I see workers here a few days a week.

I have no idea what work was done. Photo of the covered area from just now. And they have moved to the stairs at the east side.

That's just how they do winter snow and ice removal at Metrolinx. Their consultants must have come up with the idea.

From Friday. After several months, the scissor lift that had become a semi-permanent fixture has been removed from the secondary entrance building. And it appears to have been cleaned. FWIW.

Secondary entrance has no more fencing

More views of the main building. And I can confirm that the steps in front of the station function as I would expect! Truly miraculous work here!
