Toronto East Bayfront: Aitken Place Park | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I guess it isn't a good sign that even developer fantasy-renderings are no longer showing the East Bayfront LRT.

Are you talking about the renderings on the previous page? Because if you are…

1) They're not from a private developer.

2) Fantasy isn't the right word - concept would be.

3) The park doesn't reach Queens Quay on the north end, so no wonder there's no East Bayfront LRT pictured.

Just a heads up that this is coming in front of the Design and Review Panel on Wednesday at 10:00.

I and few member are concern about the run off from the corten for the shelter as well a few other areas.

The play area is aim at children under 5 since Sherbourne Park is next door for the older kids.

Various types of chairs and benches will be use. Looking at having swivel chairs over looking the dog run and a few other spots.

5% slope for the hill and walkway that will have running water down it.

Late July is now when the public will get a chance to comment on this park, with construction slated for next year.

The park name will go on the wall at the south end along with the history for the park name as well feature of what Toronto look like in the 1700 & 1800's compare to what there now.

Vehicle access was raised at the last meeting and only on the east side, depending on what built there.

The road and sidewalk are at the same level as the park on the north side.

I don't know, but I would not be surprised if it remained closed until Merchants' Wharf opened (which won't likely happen until the first occupancies at Aqualina I am guessing).

The proposed water feature (water table on a stone slab) is going to be a total kids magnet.

AoD

It would be great if its designed in a way that you would be able to put a toy into the water near the top of the park, and have it float down to the bottom of the water feature near the lake as you chase after it.

Of course, I mean, it would be great for me, but im sure kids would enjoy it too :)

I think we might need a supply of rubber ducks :D
