They have one In Ajax, not that I am poo pooing on this project. I actually love this for that location and in Pickering. Pickering has been trying for years to develop into a nice city with a downtown.. Ajax finally catching up to Pickering... although they still don’t have a real mall. But are great for having 2000 plazas. If you drive. This ties in nice with the new go station bridge to the mall. All futuristic looking.

Didin't the OLG just announce that the Ajax Casino would be expanded? Do we really need another Casino in Pickering too?

This is nowhere near downtown Ajax nor downtown Pickering and will do nothing for making either of them more urban. This might be a fun getaway spot for people on occasion, but neither town will benefit from this in terms of the day-to-day, and how their urban infrastructure might be enhanced. Some locals will be employed, and some will lose their shirts gambling here. That's about it.

It will be fairly quick and accessible from Downtown Pickering. Downtown residents can walk the bridge across to the GO Station where surely there will be Durham Live buses lined up to take people less than 5 mins down Bayly for free. Poor little Casino Port Perry will get crushed and Ajax Downs will be in trouble. But this is the right location for Durham and could be a major boon to Durham as the area expands.

Where in anything you just wrote did you make a case for this being good for Downtown Pickering? @ptbotrmpfn is claiming that this will be a boon for Downtown Pickering, but all Downtown Pickering is, is a mall surrounded by parking, one old mid-rise office building, and a GO Station across the highway. This complex, 3km to the east on the other side of an industrial area, will do nothing for urbanism in Durham Region.

Sorry i was just stating that Durham Live will be very quick and accessible from Pickering Centre and a possible boon to Durham overall. I cant speak for the other poster but there is no doubt it will be a great asset to the area.

The growth expected for Durham in general will help grow these small suburban-urban areas like downtown Pickering gradually in the future. The fact you will be able to live near the BRT, GO, 401, shopping, and quick access to entertainment will certainly make Pickering Centre a far more attractive place to become a sucessful suburban-urban node in the coming decades.

He was directing that.. at me. But I just meant it could be a good thing to create more growth and opportunity. For future.... Not for, never mind , he knew.

Way to always be positive that’s the spirit. Good reliable interchange42.

Great. My parents live in Pickering (albeit nowhere near this thing) and I love going to casinos (mostly to have pints and wine and have a laugh, though I do alright at blackjack) so I might even end up here like twice a decade.

oh no I didn't even know there were that many seasons. Last season I watched was Swayze Express, and that was ten years ago. Perhaps will check it out.

They have migrated over to Netflix since then with new seasons dropping every March. This was the last season to feature Lahey because the actor (John Dunsworth) passed away a few months ago.
