We need a moratorium against that grey spandrel. It is soul sucking and looks cheap from day one.

At first I couldn’t see the spandrel y’all were complaining about but now I see it and it looks unlike anything I’ve seen before lol

Remember: for all the aesthetic 'victories' of the office phase to the south, remember that this is Daniels, one of the most aesthetically challenged developers we have. I wasn't expecting much here and it looks like there's nothing to be surprised about.

To her credit, Pina called out Daniels for their cheapness. It's all on tape too:

Yep, I feel the office portion of this project is quite nice, but the residential towers are really bland. :(

Yikes... 1/3rd of the ceiling height and majority of the window walls are covered in that grey spandrel...? who approved this...

Maybe it is just for that floor - is it an amenity floor maybe?

Doubtful - from the SPA Architectural Plans dated June 6, 2017:

Spandrel glass all the way, baby.

Yep, I feel the office portion of this project is quite nice, but the residential towers are really bland. :(

Bland would be small mercy.

I'm hoping the punched metal balconies on the west building will at least be interesting, but aside from the office component the best part of this project will definitely be the public realm in my opinion. Between 'sugar beach north' and the proposed retail area between the north and south phases I think it's another good step in activating the waterfront area east of Yonge.
