Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I've been looking at the speculation above and this thread clearly suffers from lack of @AlvinofDiaspar 's input.

Not even one suggestion of snipers, or pop up spike strips, spring-loaded catapults under the paving beside the tracks. (ok that last one sounds a bit more @Richard White )

A complete lack of creativity and devotion to ruthless efficiency. LOL

Or something along these lines....

There is nothing a politician loves more than a nice juicy ribbon cutting ceremony. This is why they always show up at them, it's a political win. Finch, however, has been quite the opposite.
I wonder if any politicians will have the guts to turn out to a ribbon cutting ceremony for Crosstown. If it were me, I'd skip this one.

Any outdoor transit platform, be it tram, streetcar, light rail, subway/metro, or commuter rail, should have heated platforms. They only have to be turned on when it is snowing or freezing rain.

In Toronto, it does not snow every day in winter. If condo or office buildings can do it for their driveways, so can Toronto (or Ontario) for public transit or its peasants.

Well, city council said they needed roughly 4 months to figure out TPS and asses how it would affect traffic. So you could be looking at a June 2026 opening date if you insist on waiting.
That assessment was done in April 2025 and discussed in the city council.
