Heritage preservation and interior demolition work is moving right along at Bloor Street United Church at Huron Street in Downtown Toronto. The church site is being reworked to add Collecdev's Cielo Condos to it, which will add 284 residential units to the neighbourhood.

Update: The one story extension on the north-west of the church has been excommunicated and fully removed.

I hope they're saving those slate roof shingles and other materials that today are exorbitantly expensive to replace.

Interesting, looks like they're cataloguing the stone from the one storey portion. Anyone know what's happening to it? Would be nice to see it reassembled somewhere, possibly at Guildwood? Also those doors; would be a crime if they just ended up in a landfill somewhere.

Yeah, I've noticed that. Makes me wonder being arches if they where sealed by gravity only as oppose to with mortar.
