Doubtful. The developers are either acting for other interests or looking to sell to those other interests. Those other interests haven't shown to be any more design literate than the condo builders.
 
An SPA was filed with the City at the end of October, and a demo permit application was filed back in May. Here are high-quality versions of the renderings posted by @ProjectEnd last year:

Once again, G+C demonstrates a lack of understanding of the qualities of scale and proportion - which are so essential in a building's architectural expression. This one has quickly become a disappointment. One can only imagine what it will look like when it's covered built and clad with window wall and spandrel glass.
