Arthouse Condos (9582 Markham Rd, Markham, Flato, 14s, ?)

Add this to the growing list of 18-20s towers along Markham Road near Mount Joy GO station. This one is especially craptastic.

I hope with all the development along Markham Road more frequent bus service will be considered.

I believe this will be on the southwest corner of Markham and Bur Oak.

I'm not sure why it says "just north of Highway 7" when it's north of 16th. All these condos up by Mount Joy GO station are really overselling their proximity to main street, or at least the part of main street with retail and services. It's good to see more density around a GO station though.

The arch at the top is striking for how dated it makes the building look. It's emblematic of the 1980s.

I'm sure it's because 7 is supposedly a "highway" and probably has nothing to do with being in the core of Markham Village. Developments in southern York Region are often advertised as being near Highway 7--as if that meant something! It's amazing how nomenclature affects perception.
