More roof coverage.

Would be good to get an update from this vantage!

Maki's other Aga Khan building in Canada (Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat) just won a Governor General’s Medals in Architecture

Very interesting Ottawa Citizen article:

Governor General’s Medals in Architecture Jury Comment said:
This is a significant addition to Ottawa’s repertoire of diplomatic buildings and puts Canadian architecture firmly on the world stage. Impressively monumental in scale, the project combines a powerful civic presence with a remarkable level of sophistication. Its integration of traditional Islamic motifs such as specially crafted screens and a lush courtyard garden is choreographed with assurance and sensitivity, bringing the building wonderfully to life as a delicate and sensual piece of architecture, while the quality of materials and detailing is outstanding.

I'll be the first to admit I'm very interested in the Aga Khan's visit, however, in context of this thread, we really should try to keep it to construction and directly related aspect of the project. There will most certainly be specific aspects of the project that will need to be ready for the big guy's visit, and perhaps the rumors about new enhanced lighting are related to this.

Thanks for the people in the thread that are posting the photo updates. I'm not a religious person but I find this to be quite an interesting set of buildings and I will definitely visit the museum when it is open!

Here are some photos from about five weeks ago by Medhi Esmail via Picadaweb:

In these images it looks like a new layer on the museum auditorium dome, or is that snow?

In this image, you can see a frame for the large angled skylight I've mentioned before. You can't see it from Jim's view. Wonder if the glass is now on there and what it looks like?

Those trees that were recently put in are very large!

I'm so glad to see that they are covering up all the exposed concrete. This will be a wonderful cultural attraction, once it is finished. Toronto needs all the top quality attractions it can get.

I love how, when you're driving north on the DVP at night, the illumninated glass prayer hall roof looks like a white mountaintop (or an iceberg). Love that it's a slightly irregular shape, rather than a perfect pyramid.

Someone else had mentioned earlier that the approach from DVP north-bound is quite impressive. Would love to see a picture of a video!
