This project took a particularly long time to complete - screenshots from Google StreetView:

Good to see it almost done, it's a nice little addition to the streetscape.

Indeed. The previous decrepit state was quite an eyesore for many years. Now if only something can be done with the building at College and Roxton which is still going through a similar situation.

Well, that took long enough. It was one seriously barren-looking building for the longest time. Not terribly impressed with the makeover but at least something's finally been done!

It could use an extra floor, but I like these sorts of projects that are closer to the traditional rhythm of facades along Bloor Street. I hate seeing yet another sterile wall of glass that spans the equivalent of 5-15 traditional storefronts, depending on the project.

This project remains unfinished as of August 2024, Google Street View imagery:

All permits remain issued and open with the most recent revision issued in Nov' 2023 to the mechanical permit for a revised HVAC system.

Good Question!

No Stop Work Orders.

They seem to have all their permits, though most of them were revised in Oct/Nov '23.

That said, this is not a large building......an if those revised permits were acted on by Jan '24.........things should be further advanced by now....

It is truly baffling. Unless they have no mortgage, there's interest payments, and property taxes, maybe utilities. Just finish it so it can be rented out and generate revenue! Am I missing something here?

I'd guess they had a dispute with the contractor (non-payment but potentially for a good reason), followed by a contractors lien on the property, and now no other contractor will touch it until it's settled. If they're going through the courts that can take years.
