It's such a large site, yet looks like less than half the size of the parking lot:

I'm old enough to remember when the Queen Street frontage consisted of Cookes Church. Good to see this lot finally begin to disappear.

Finally! The demise of this horrible parking lot. This development should kick start development along Queen east-which is long overdue.

My arms are open to boutique infill and sensitive larger buildings synonymous with Lamb. This or the One Properties proposal can continue to wait indefinitely. The scale as well as the built form of towers on podiums is too boring and ordinary.

Intentionally or not, it's also a weak facsimile of the recently completed 56 Leonard in NYC.

Update:
Last month, we updated you on the progress that St Thomas Developments' 88 North has made since its formal announcement. Located at Mutual and Shuter streets on the east side of Downtown Toronto, 88 North is slated to replace the north end of the block sized parking lot which runs north from Queen Street East. The Page + Steele / IBI Group-designed project proposes four high-rise towers, one of which will be named 88 North, fronting Shuter Street.
