Rezoning application to add a 45-storey residential tower, with a floor plate of approximately 490 square metres (5,285 square feet), on the west side of the property. The new residential gross floor area is approximately 20,856 square metres (224,494 square feet), with minor reductions in non-residential gross floor area where the addition is planned. The existing office building focused on Bay Street remains together with the existing rental apartment building. With this residential addition, the total (combined) gross floor area of this mixed-use development will be approximately 55,940 square metres (602,138 square feet).

where would this fit exactly? this lot seems pretty built out..
I was wondering the same thing. But upon further inspecting the application, it looks like this is more of an addition. Considering the floor pate is only 490m squared, looks like they're demolishing a sliver of the podium fronting Elizabeth st... Don't think it will be connected to the existing structure (although they could?) but will be right up against it and surpass it in height. interesting...

I don't see that (i.e. tall residential towers) happening unless UHN sells the site to a developer. Not sure if that's the greatest idea given the limited amount of space available for hospital expansion.

I know it wont happen, but that larger lot would make for a good park. I can't think of a park in this hospital neighbourhood between University Ave and Bay (There is the re-do of the park near Aura come to think of it).

Maybe part of can become a small pocket park like Paley or Greenacre park in NYC.
