Toronto 66 Isabella | 73.15m | 23s | BDP Quadrangle

I'll admit it doesn't look that bad all things considered, but would any other city build this? Covering up an old commie block tower with a glass and black-brick addition just seems so emblematic of Toronto -- kind of like a Frankenstein building that merges the anonymous brick buildings we built in the 60-70s with the anonymous glass buildings we've been building this century.

It's too bad a building will cover up those balcony brackets - could have been an opportunity for some sweet 'high-tech' flourishes in a city sorely lacking in them.

Scroll back, someone did. It's pretty nasty.

They have started to remove the existing balcony's. Sorry to say cheap tin panel going in to replace the concrete ones.

Noting has started on the addition other than the hole

LOL! Everything about this project just screams Frankenstein. Even the metal panels of the new balconies look like a hatch job. Terrible execution.

I saw yesterday that most of the frames on the north side of those new large one-bedroom corner units have now had clear glass installed, which is much better than the metal panels that are shown above from back in March. They must have been test panels that were very smartly rejected.
