Two apartment buildings proposed at Eglinton and Kipling

A community consultation meeting will be held next year on a developer's proposal to build 405 rental units in a nine-storey and an 18-storey apartment building at 63 and 73 Widdicombe Hill Blvd. where two 17-storey apartment buildings currently exist and will remain.

Two more apartment buildings may soon be coming to Eglinton Avenue West and Kipling Avenue in central Etobicoke.

The owner of 63 and 73 Widdicombe Hill Blvd. is proposing a redevelopment plan to add a nine-storey and an 18-storey apartment building to the property, the site of two existing 17-storey apartment buildings, which will remain.

Etobicoke York community council recently voted to direct city planners to schedule a community consultation meeting on the application, together with Etobicoke Centre Coun. Stephen Holyday, who represents the area.

JUST THE FACTS
• Two apartment buildings of 461 rental units currently exist on the site and will remain.
• Two new apartment buildings proposed would consist of 133 rental units and 272 rental units.
• A total of 996 parking spaces would be provided.

• The nine-storey apartment building would contain nine bachelor units, 44 one-bedroom units, 58 two-bedroom units and 22 three-bedroom units.

• The 18-storey apartment building would contain 12 bachelor units, 74 one-bedroom units, 146 two-bedroom units and 40 three-bedroom units.
• The application would result in a total of 866 apartment units on the site.
