An application has been submitted by Menkes to permit four towers ranging from 36-40-stories with 1,513 units at Corporate Drive and Consilium Place.

hmm menkes makes good buildings...

Based on what they've done in North York, Menkes does do suburban condo zones well. This will be an oasis of satisfactory in a desert of nauseous misery...too bad Moriyama's original plan wasn't carried out further.

All the more reason to extend the Danforth and Sheppard lines there.

Really we should have both SCC and MCC connected by subway. They would make good bookends to the subway system.

For what it's worth, the heights are listed as 2x120m (40 floor buildings) and 2x108m (36 floor buildings) in the reports.

A plot of land is being grazed on the southwest corner of Conslium pl.
and Corporate drive. Any guesses as to what they are building?

Red at Equinox i think is Eq3 is more then 50% sold in its opening according to the Star.

I think Monarch plans to build more and more Equinox buildings there.

STC's awfulness will be diminished through the sheer brute force of many thousands of residents, more stores, etc. At the same time, though, they will only highlight its inadequacies.

The skyline will really get a boost once the land around Brimley & Progress is filled in - the 2 empty corners plus the Schick Court land can comfortably fit about 15 towers - but the shape of the skyline, filled with endless 36 storey towers, could be pretty blah

This development should bring up the issue of the McCowan Road "expressway", which divides the Corporate Drive condo district from the rest of Scarborough Centre. It's a terrible thing to navigate over and under overpasses and through parking lots to get to the mall and the Civic Centre.

Perhaps a short SRT extension east from McCowan to Corporate Drive will do the trick.

They're gonna have to do something about that bottleneck on the Consilium ramp up to McCowan. Leaving work to get on the 401 Westbound is gonna be a nightmare!

Would be nice to someday see the mall razed and a proper grid put in. Progess could become the Yonge Street of SCC. One can dream I guess.
