Toronto 280 Jarvis Street | 74.7m | 22s | Antorisa Investments | Giannone Petricone

The location of the tower feels right to me. Neill Wycik next door means it fits in more on the Gerrard side than on the Jarvis frontage, which has less of a high rise character.

This proposal looks surprisingly contextual and appropriate from a density perspective, actually. Quite a rarity given the stream of absurd proposals we've seen recently.

The higher density on the west side of the lot would also mitigate shadow effects on Allan Gardens, so I expect that was a consideration.

It..will...not...die...

Do hookers still hang around Jarvis? I'll never forget going home late from class and seeing them all along Jarvis from Gerard to Wellesley. A young man grew up quickly ;-)

Oh for goodness sake - I hope it's only because the Harvey's site owners were greedy and not because they actually wanted to build around that.

Heritage buildings to be "shifted and integrated" -- might we have another "building on a skid" project to geek out over in the near-ish future?

There are still hookers on Jarvis, but they have largely migrated over to Homewood. Jarvis, and Gerrard has a lot of pan handlers that aggressively approach vehicles and other pedestrians, it also has its share of junkies... not so much a prostitute hot spot though.

A wonderful Romanesque - Revival house preceeded the Harvey's :

Those are beautiful! Thank you for finding them. I don't think I've ever seen them before.

Wow, those photos are really depressing.
Yes, prolonged viewing of pre-war Jarvis Street can lead to depression:
