Lets have a look at the site, as is:

Interesting, looking at the Site Plan, in respect of retail. Some of you may recall a recent discussion in another thread that part of promoting retail vitality is deep, but narrow retail, reducing the need for window film and increasing retail variety.

Now, those are some very small units, but it is the right idea. I have to say, that service corridor looks pretty narrow.
 
Definitely encouraging on the retail unit side of things. While it may not be pretty, there's a certain vitality to Lawrence East with its amazing range and variety of restaurants that I feared would be lost with redevelopment. Hopefully this means these sorts of small mom 'n' pop places will have a chance to reopen.
