Toronto LNX Residences at Bloor and Dundas | 87.5m | 27s | Lormel Homes | Richmond Architects

Glad to see this one get built but of course by playing hardball Perks and the city have managed to avoid negotiating any benefits for the neighbourhood. Great job! The OMB result should have been assumed to be the expected result, and they could likely have negotiated a 19-20 storey building with section 37 benefits (the latter is all I care about).

The Board's whole point about this being the only site in the area that can handle this height because it is removed from the other neighbourhoods makes no sense. The neighbouring plaza (the owners of which are probably having a celebration tonight) can clearly hold a tall building adjacent to the tracks that is sufficiently back from Dundas. And the Giraffe site, while it had other problems, is no closer to the residential neighbourhood than this site.

Lormel has opted to develop a rental building here instead, and bumped it up to 24 storeys:

Shoring and excavation have commenced. Hopefully the city will put in the new traffic light here that was mentioned somewhere...

Someone has said the site been shut down by the Ministry of the Environment. Unknown to the owner, chemicals where found on site at this stage, that the site needs to be clean before the site can be built. Not sure how true this is or what is up since various equipment still on site. One would think that the equipment would be removed long ago if it going to be a year or so before work can take place.
