I'm relieved, because one of the best restaurants in the city (Awai) would be kicked out when this project gets underway, and that would be an awful loss for the area!

Interesting that this is on hold, primarily because this is where the developer was aiming to put the displaced rental tenants from the micro-retail project over at High Park Station. I wonder if this means that both projects are taking a pause, or that the developer is merely pursuing a different rental replacement strategy...

I think it would be fair to say that this project as envisioned is dead (or at least on hold for a protracted period), with something else (and smaller) happening.

At 2271 Bloor, there is no development application, but this building permit issued:

I looked into this because I spotted a mobile crane on Saturday, August 21 at this site, and there are clearly alterations including some sort of rooftop addition taking place. Photos to follow in a subsequent post.
