In pre-consultation, on the north end of Downtown Brampton. It's for most of the block surrounded by Main Street North, Thomas Street, Market Street and David Street.

There was a previous pre-consultation meeting last year for a smaller development of 600 suites (17 storey point tower on the north; 26 storeys on the south). This latest proposal, just submitted to city planning, doubles that to 1,012 residential units in two 48-storey towers.

Though it's very early stages, this is a development site worth watching.

The development is proposed on the lands municipally known as 199 Main Street North, 203 Main Street North, 205 Main Street North, 207 Main Street North, 209 Main Street North, 215 Main Street North, 219 Main Street North, 221 Main Street North, 44 Thomas Street, 42 Thomas Street, 38 Thomas Street, 34 Thomas Street, and 4 Market Street.

Solmar Development Corp. is proposing a mixed-use development on the subject lands that consists of two 48 storey towers. The towers will be separated by a Privately-Owned Public Accessible Space (P.OP.S) that will span across the entire length of the property from Main Street North to Thomas Street. The proposal includes 1268m2 of ground-floor retail along Main Street North, and a 738 m2 daycare is proposed at grade along Thomas Street. The proposal includes a total of 1,012 residential units with a combined FSI of 11.1.

He we go with skyscrapers in Brampton! This project has a nice white solid looking facade.

I prefer the ‘ratty’ little house and greenery. No wonder everybody is fleeing to greener pastures. Brampton once was the latter.

Strong reactions here. It should be noted that this project is still in pre-application stage, has not even been submitted for rezoning. Those images are surely just preliminary massing concepts.

Hence my incredibly, irrefutably hilarious joke at @cd concept's minor expense: yup, that massing diagram is too early an image upon which to set any expectations.
