New to the AIC overnight is this application for 2 properties at 181-191 Eglinton Avenue East.

Proposed is a 40-storey building........this is the south side of Eglinton and immediately west of Browlow. (1 block west of Mt. Pleasant)

Below is the Streetview of the site as it is, which is all the lowrise.

Comments; Height is an easy sell. Streetwall seems slightly excessive; all of it as ugly as sin.

Surprisingly, perhaps, the Shadow studies indicate minimal impact on the school yard to the west, (after 5pm in March/September) and from mid-afternoon in June.

Yet another disaster by Camrost. Every inch of this is dreadfully disgusting, chiefly the horrid streetwall and podium. The tower itself is not even worth commenting on, the thing is a joke all around.

Midtown is just turning into an architectural wasteland. There have been some projects that have saved it, but when developers like this just come along with waste like this, it's not helping at all.

Wow. So we're going from having half this block turned to an architectural crap-shoot to the whole block being bland and uninteresting. 40 floors is a massive ask across the street from Eglinton Junior Public School...but perhaps it surprises me more because this area has never been that tall. It's strange having even 30 floor buildings around here.

They should least rename this street Drecklinton Avenue... /sigh

Eglinton has never had a 'subway' before. Now that it does, it would be more surprising if tall buildings weren't proposed along its entire route. I have no issue with the height. Like others, I take issue with yet another soul destroying design. We're so used to this standard that we're becoming accustomed to it. Are we building a bigger, better city or just more places one doesn't want to spend any time in?

This one was at Council last week.

The recommendations have not yet been made public, but there are new Arch. Docs submitted to OLT in October, but dated June '23.

Hearing date is slated for February '24 if a settlement is not arrived at.

I'll let @Paclo sort out what's changed here, if anything.

This was a settlement offer; it has been adopted, and the recommendations are now public.

That much was correct..............but I got caught not reading the report........

The solicitor's advice was to reject the offer, and that rejection was adopted.

So this is not what we're getting.

A new offer was submitted to the City in March (the OLT hearing was pushed to April) and we're back.
