Toronto 1439 Bloor West | 47.75m | 14s | Neudorfer | Barrett

Mrgeosim --- where did you get these renderings from? It doesn't appear you have the correct building here -- the building at the City of Toronto application appears as per your Oct 4, 2018 post, not as per your Nov 19, 2019 post. Looking closely at the streetlevel on the Nov 19, 2019 post - it doesn't match what's actually there, showing bunch of buildings on both sides of the building where in fact it's right next to railway so no room for other buildings as shown.

So, short of confirmation to the contrary, it seems to me it's still the original piece of trash building they're proposing - not the revised one (which would've indeed been an improvement in comparison).
You can check it out from their architect's website: barrett-architect.com

Looks like things took a turn for the worse. This building is going to look so bad in comparison to the one proposed next to it.

As if this area couldnt get anymore visually depressing.

On a brief aside, for some reason Neudorfer sounds like neutered to me. Ironic because, this is exactly what Neudorfer needs to do with itself to release itself from Toronto.

On top of its lack of any visual appeal, it seems that there is no longer any retail planned for the podium, further cementing this area's reputation for being 'the dead part of Bloor. '

Neudorfer are like a thorn in and around the areas that surround the Junction Triangle when it comes to highrise architectural initiatives.

This should be rejected on the basis of how little effort the architects put in.

It's not that hard guys.

Elements from the surrounding context they could have referenced:

Brick & metal industrial urban vibe, etc.

Even something simple would have sufficed:

I'll take my consultation fee now.

As if this area couldnt get anymore visually depressing......

I think the builder here read that and understood it to be a challenge.

Neudorfer remains on the ticket here as the would-be builder, but the architect is now listed as Gabriel Bodor.

@Paclo

This one is now pegged at 33 storeys; and is proposed as rental.

Elevator Ratio: 379 units to 4 elevators or 1 elevator per 95 units.

Comments: Aside from being profoundly ugly, the suite sizes proposed are again quite small and make no real sense. 1 bdrms at well shy of 600ft2, 2 bdrms shy of 700ft2

The elevator ratio is about the only thing to recommend here. Send it back.
