What a shame, this was a nice looking project and fills in an underutilized lot on Queen East. Although with the suspiciously long time sitting idle, it become increasingly likely that this was looming.

It probably fell through due to financing- 33 Developments seemed like a pretty small developer and this was their first mult-unit Toronto project.

However, I'm pretty sure that the site will be purchased by another developer, and we'll get a fairly similar building since the site's already gone through approval.

City took way too long to even get close to approving the site. With the uncertainty of where the relief was going to go, Pape or Carlaw. By the time they decided Carlaw, it was already 2 years since it sold out. Then with the changes looming on the education portion of the Development charges, city held off until that budget passed. Suddenly movement on the file, too late, costs have increased on average 30% annually, there was no way to build and not be upside down. Shame on the city, that helps the housing shortage.
