I had never heard of this until today, apologies if there's a thread on it already but I have not seen it.
This is an exhaustive and comprehensive look at all aspects of public transit construction drawing on data from dozens of cities and then makes conclusions based around five core cases, with the newest one being New York and the Second Avenue Subway, but others include Italy, Sweden, Turkey, and in Boston.
