From the KPMB website:
Interesting, for sure. So St Mikes owns the lot on the corner of Bond and Dundas? No wonder it's sat undeveloped for so long.. Hope it moves forward quickly.
They do and, unfortunately, they're not interested in selling. Many parties have tried over the years, all without success.
I wonder who owns the land under St. Michael's Choir School. It would be neat to engineer some complex land swap to relocate it to provide additional expansion space for SMH (and get rid of that blank wall)
At least this master plan indicated a condo tower.. likely to finance the whole thing.
Yup, pretty easy to hold land in underproductive uses when you don't pay property taxes.
Oh please, why should they sell?...maybe this plan has been in the works for quite some time
It certainly has: the completion date on the webpage says 2015, so I'd say this is just something that KPMB has finally put up online, that we've finally found, and that they're not in any rush.
All I'm saying is render unto Caesar the things that are Caes....nvmd. But seriously.
They should build a bigger and grander stone cathedral in the Gothic or Baroque style--one to rival the large metropolitan cities of the continent.
And for what purpose considering congregations continue to decline? They can barely maintain what they currently have. Hence the condo.
Images from the report.
Is that the case for the Archdiocese of Toronto? I thought it was mainly UC that is seeing declining congregations.
Most churches are seeing a decline in attendance.
