Interesting question. Turkeys do have some (very limited) rights, in Canada at least. They have the right not to be mistreated in the course of becoming Christmas supper.

My stepfather raises about two dozen turkeys every year and gives them to people he knows for Christmas dinner.

I've seen them as they grow up, and let me tell you: turkeys are mean, always fighting and pecking each other, sometimes to death. By eating them we are doing them a favour. We are saving them from themselves.
