Repurposed traffic signs

This is a thread to discuss repurposed traffic signs.

Sometimes, the Ministry of Transportation is so frugal that traffic signs are repurposed.

For example, at the southern side of the intersection of Front and Spadina, there's a Keep to the Right of the Traffic Island sign that is originally a school crossing sign (you can see the original sign on the back, albeit rotated).

Well, this is certainly worth starting a thread for! Do you expect us to post photos of others we may see?

(Also, why not reuse the metal signs and save $$?) BTW the sign at Front & Spadina would be a City Transportation sign.

Is this an observation or a concern? Is being "frugal" a problem? Most major muicipalities and the Province have sign shops. So long as the new sign is of the proper regulated shape I don't see a problem. High grade galvanized steel and exterior grade 'signboard' plywood aren't cheap.

It's an observation. Frugality can be both an asset or a liability in the case of reusing signs.
