A report from the transportation services general manager on the recommendations of the Infrastructure Improvements in the Fort York and Railway Lands West Neighbourhoods Class EA Study has been completed. If approved and funding is allocated detail design will begin in 2007 with construction in 2008.
Recommendations Include:
Bathurst: four-lane roadway and exclussive streetcar corridor with a tree lined boulevard on each side;
Fort York Blvd: two-land roadway with a bike lane in each direction, a tree lined blvd on each side and a centre median island for a potential transit right-of-way;
Bathurst: profile modified to include a flat intersection at Fort York blvd and a lowered bridge profile;
Fleet St: expansion of the existing blvd and closure of westbound Fleet St. from Bathurst to the future Iannuzzi Street.
