President Donald Trump's United States of America

They'll other Caitlyn when it suits them to do so. Her mistake is thinking getting close to them solidifies anything for her.
The critical thing to remember there is that Caitlyn Jenner is momentarily exempted through reflecting the same tabloid/reality-show celebrity culture as Trump. And as Trump is more a useful-idiot means to an end, it'll likely be when he dies that the TheoBro mullahs will take over and start staging Romanov-style mass executions of the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

The H1B presser was a good indicator that Trump isn't really running the show any more. They basically have to explain the policy to him in the room on air, and he kind of waves away and says yeah that sounds great whatever. He seems more concerned with building his ballroom. I'm confident they just tell him whatever they think will make him happy and then do everything else in the background. There's zero chance at this stage he has any idea what an H1B is or what it does. He's not well health-wise and I don't know if he makes it to 2026.

The problem is what you've outlined, mostly that others will file in once he's gone and start ramping things up, either because they have more power or because they see their power slipping away. The question is whether they'll still have the power to do damaging policy once Trump eventually passes on.

The problem they (Americans) find themselves in now is that if there are free and fair elections and if the Democrats gain power back there will be another January 6th, only this time the administration has brown shirts (ICE) willing and capable of hauling people off to disappear them indefinitely, and government administration now so cut back and inept that there'll be no chance for investigation or judicial action after the fact.

Between then and there, folks like Loomer are now saying that there's an imminent "terrorist threat" in the US from Al-Qaeda, and given her recent history with Kirk we have to assume this is some kind of false flag. Nothing is real and the points are made up.

Well, if Loomer's actually presently de facto *dwelling* within the White House, and Trump dies and JD Vance gives her the ultimatum to vamoose, I can see her going bonkers and attempting to blow the place up Waco-style. Because she truly is that kind of crazy, coo coo bananas, etc. And *that* would be a moment to reckon with...

The 'All In' podcast billionaires recently posted a video of Trump touring them through the Oval Office. Trump talked a lot about how he zhuzhed up the Oval Office by hand picking some portraits and putting up gold spray painted decorative elements from Home Depot. He talked about his ballroom and why they paved the Rose Garden. This guy spent more than half his time on the trappings of office. I don't think he is really directing his administration--he delegated power to a bunch of trolls and influencers.

He's certainly not listening to his tech sponsors. H1B visa charges are gonna have an extremely big impact on tech companies. The problem is that those jobs have been filled with H1B visa holders precisely because there aren't enough qualified US citizens. And it's not like these are foreign worker wages; these are $150k/yr+ jobs that have always been just as open to US workers as foreign ones.

No skilled developer's gonna fork over $100k/yr of their own money to make just $50k. If Amazon were to sponsor these its current H1B visa workers under the new rules (and subsequently pay for their $100k fee), it'd be over $1.1B in additional costs to the company.

Unless 500,000 US citizens can suddenly bump up their skillsets dramatically (as to why they wouldn't have before, I don't know), they're gonna be trying to fill these roles for years to come. There just isn't the appetite amongst Americans towards STEM education to replace them. And it's especially damaging when these companies are all poaching from each other for AI supremacy. GO figure, when politicians spend the last decade demonizing science, tech and post-secondary education, you have to be aware it's gonna come home to roost some day.

All the TechBros who sucked up hard to Trump during his inauguration are likely feeling a very deep and very painful sense of regret right now.

Except those who donate and support him, as there is a clause for H1Bs to skip the $100K requirement at the discretion of the secretary. Donate to POTUS and maybe your company won't have to pay H1B fees. Good grift.

Trump and Stephen Miller’s racist obsession with immigration is causing the actual serious threats to the safety of Americans to go ignored and it’s not just happing at DHS, the State Department and the DOJ. Scores of FBI and ATF agents have been reassigned from working on priorities like transnational gangs and terrorism to work routine immigration enforcement according to current and former agents. Trump claims to be tough on crime but if that is the case his priorities are seriously misplaced. Studies done by Stanford University and the CATO institute have shown that immigrants are one of least likely groups to commit crimes. In fact they are 60% less like to commit a crime than native born Americans. Revealing that Trump’s immigration raids will have little impact on crime in America. Additionally, even the immigrants that have committed serious crimes aren’t who Trump is going after. In June officials from ICE confirmed during a Congressional hearing that they have only arrested 6% of immigrants known to have committed homicide. Trump’s entire immigration agenda is a huge waste of time, money and resources and Americans are less safe because of it.

And no doubt, he'll also be asking for a cut of the profits of these companies, much like he already has with Intel, Nvidia and AMD. The shakedown continues. That won't sit pretty with shareholders.

Trying to shape everything into one's image will have costs and consequences...not to mention, mostly runs counterintuitively to sound economic practices.

This could have repercussions for Canada. Canadian workers are Visa-exempt, so it could result in more workers leaving Canada for the U.S since there are likely to be increased vacancies in those U.S. tech sectors.

Like those South Koreans who were "arrested" by ICE and who were working legally in Georgia (the state, not the country).

Trump administration set to tie Tylenol to autism risk, officials say

Officials will also tout the drug leucovorin as a potential autism treatment, in what President Donald Trump has billed as a “very important” announcement.

The Trump administration is expected to unveil new efforts Monday exploring how one medication may be linked to autism and another one can treat it, according to four people with knowledge of the plans who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the announcement was not yet public. Federal health officials are expected to raise concerns about pregnant women’s use of acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol and one of the most widely used medications globally. Officials have been reviewing previous research — including an August review by Mount Sinai and Harvard researchers — that suggests a possible link between Tylenol use early on in pregnancy and an increased risk of autism in children. They plan to warn pregnant women against using Tylenol early on unless they have a fever, according to the four individuals. In addition, officials plan to tout a lesser-known drug called leucovorin as a potential autism treatment. Leucovorin is typically prescribed to counteract some medications’ side effects and to treat vitamin B9 deficiency. Early double-blind, placebo-controlled trials administering leucovorin to children with autism have shown what some scientists describe as remarkable improvements in their ability to speak and understand others. Officials at the Food and Drug Administration have recently been reviewing language that could apply to the drug. The findings on leucovorin have sent ripples through the scientific community, sparking renewed debate about the complex causes of autism — a condition some experts had recently considered predominantly genetic, and therefore largely untreatable. The efforts have been a top priority for President Donald Trump, who has long voiced concerns about rising U.S. autism rates and tasked his deputies this year with finding answers. The initiative has drawn in Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary, National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya and other senior officials. Trump on Saturday forecast an announcement on autism, but he — and the officials — did not specify how it would be delivered. “I think it’s going to be a very important announcement. I think it’s going to be one of the most important things that we will do,” Trump said at an event Saturday hosted by the conservative American Cornerstone Institute.

Absolute shambolic understanding of the literature surrounding Tylenol/acetaminophen use and autism. The short answer is there is no link. The long is that the major study linking them is flawed. C.f. autism and measels vaccines
