I was listening to Pod Save America today and the guest (whose name I forget) said there is still a small chance of stopping it. It just needs a couple of people to grow a backbone.
What is scary is JD Vance’s comments about how the Medicaid and debt issues aren’t important but the proposed ICE funding is.

That’s not important. Many of the original US founding fathers were not born in what would become the USA. For example, the now Broadway-famous Alexander Hamilton was born in Nevis (British West Indies), while James Wilson was born in in Scotland, Albert Gallatin in Switzerland, Thomas Paine in England, and William Paterson in Ireland. Like Musk, none of these foreigners could serve as President, but they still had a hand on the tiller. Musk would have the resources to fund and network a new party and front a applicable leader, however unlikely it was to succeed.

I suspect that wouldn't be his goal here...rather just draw off enough support to stop the Rethugs gaining the WH again, I gather.

The US doesn't really have a constitution anymore so I can't imagine this would stop anyone.

Thanks to SCOTUS (6-3) the US doesn't really have a rule of law anymore. Only "I am the law!" edicts issued by his leadership. /bleh
