Planet Hollywood - What Next for former location?

Meh. Couldn't care less.

Though Wayne Gretzky's remains just up the street.

Wow, that's almost ten years. I've actually eaten there twice! I wonder what will go in there now, at such a high-profile location...

I've never actually been inside the Planet Hollywood.

I fear this whole area where that beautiful bridge connects Front Street to the Skydome is dying of retail amenities for tourist.

There use to be a marche restaurant at the north-east corner of the intersection in the CBC and that has long closed down and now the Planet Hollywood.

This whole area needs a complete makeover as thousands of tourist, especially during the busy summer season cross this intersection to access the CN Tower/Skydome.

If I were a tourist, I'd think I'd rather have nothing than a crappy Marche or Planet Hollywood to try and decide between. Still, your point is taken. The area could certainly use some work on the retail/restaurant side of things.

Probably the *real* tourist-nosh substitute for PH/Marche in the bigger scheme of things is something perfectly homegrown, i.e. Gretzky's...

Gretzky's = pretty good food too.

Best wings in the city IMO. Great meatloaf too. :D

Best wings in the city IMO.

I remember I tried them on your advice and was impressed. Try Duffs on Mt Pleasant for huge tasty wings.

Duff's is on Bayview. And yes, their wings rock.

Planet Hollywood gone...

what to fill the space...

...

...

c'mon, who's going to make a Wal-Mart crack?

who's going to make a Wal-Mart crack?
I would love to. Who has a pipe bomb and a sledge hammer -- might be able to take down a whole wall and not just make one crack!

Former Planet Hollywood - What Next?

I recently noticed that the For Lease signs on the old Planet Hollywood beside the CN Tower are showing that's it's been leased.

It's quite a large location so I can't imagine too many other restaurants being able to use the entire space...except for maybe a Rainforest Cafe or similar.

Anybody know what's moving in?
