Photos I took at the famous Fallingwater house (the Kaufmann Residence), located about a 1.5-hour drive SE of Pittsburgh.
I took the regular tour at Fallingwater. No interior photography was allowed, so I can't show you with photos what it looks like on the inside (you'll definitely find some interior photos in coffee table books at your local bookstore). I found the interior to be much smaller than what I imagined, but that does not take away from the modern design. I really like the playfulness of the house design, from the stairs leading from the living room directly down to the stream, suicidal aerial views of the waterfall from balconies with low parapets that would not meet today's building codes. Fallingwater combines a streamline, modern design with the coziness of a cottage in the wilderness.
The guesthouse and the entrance to the carport
The natural environment takes its toll on the exterior wall
Fountain at the house entrance... creates a soothing "pissing" sound.
The famous view of the Fallingwater, downstream fron the house and the waterfall
