I just bought a Canon Rebel XT 8.0 Megapixel camera yesterday so late last night (early this morning), I went out with a couple of friends and snapped some downtown pics.

I'm new to photography (and all settings were on manual) so most of these photos are blah. The goal is to improve my photography skills to help out with my renderings.

These are all taken between 2:00AM and 5:00AM. Between all the drunk, Halloween party-going people and the harrassing Dundas Square security guard, it was quite a night.

Great pics, you are well on your way!

Just curious, what did the Dundas Square security guard do/say?

Great pics! Mind if I save a few for the daily banner images?

That skirt incident was nothing compared to this young lady that walked past me while I was on the ground taking a pic from Union. Her miniskirt was higher than the bottom of her butt and she wasn't wearing panties. I turned just as she was walking by and, well, from my vantage point I got an eyefull. Holloween. It's a crazy time.
I do suppose it would be quite rude of me to ask if it was a half or full moon out.

cass, i can't believe that crap you had to go through. society is getting very stupid. everyone is so freaking paranoid. anyone that takes pictures of anything public is automaticly a terrorist researching a target. anyone with half a mind can remember a place with visual memory. how long will it be before security comes up to a person walking down the street
saying "hey, what are you looking at with your eyes".

great pics BTW.

great pics cassius! Man, if these are your first ones, you are doing amazing.........

Good pictures cassiusa! The city has a different look and feel at night.

Cass, there are certainly some keepers in the bunch..The rebel really seems to pick up the blues and purples well. My fuji is great with reds..Thanks for sharing!!

when she sees a completely shitfaced girl

What does that look like? Brown smudges? Sickly? Just plain ugly? Drunk?

What is with those security guards? Are they expecting some airliners to land in Dundas Square in the middle of the night? Are they afraid the camera will suck the karma out of the square? How can if possibly be unacceptable to take pictures in a public square meant to draw tourists? They should be selling film and cameras in the square, not harrassing people taking photos. Geez.

Canuck 36,
I didn't realize the conversation I had with security was inappropriate ;)
