my buddies and me are taking a road trip in sept to see a Jets/bills game, but we want to stay in Toronto and catch a jays game.

My job is to find a hotel in the best part of town.. and by "Best" i mean.. the spot where the most action is. it's got to be somewhat close to the skydome.. if possible.

can you guys/gals help me out?

thank you..

There's a hotel in the Skydome - I think it's a Radisson now.

It's actually the Renaissance Skydome (part of the Marriott chain).

I stayed there on New Years Eve, very nice and central to everything.

Holiday Inn on King is even more centrally located to the Entertainment District.

nothing too pricey.. i guess a couple hundred american a night would be good.

we've been to many cities on our roadtrips, toronto has always been a must see city from what i've been told..

finally gonna get to see it.

Better hurry! Our dollar's gonna overtake yours soon ...

Well.. i just checked availability for the hotel at Rogers, and they don't have anything available from 22nd-23rd. That place must book up QUICK! i thought i was getting a good head start.

Maybe the holiday on king then.. seems pretty close.. and looks pretty nice for a holiday inn.

... what is the Exchange rate right now from US-Can?

We were hoping to get more for our US dollar at the "gentlemen's" clubs in Toronto ;)

Re: re:need hotel for road trip in sept

You couldn't be picking a worse time as far as the exchange rate goes. The CDN dollar has recently been it's highest vs the US dollar in almost 30 years.

I would spend the extra $50 a night and stay at Le Germain. Close to the Dome close to all the King West action and if you need to hit a club they are blocks away. If you happen to 'score' some ladies then the environs at Le Germain and much more condusive to an 'in the park home run' than the Holiday Inn which to me reeks of swingers.

Have fun

To answer your question, you'll get about $1.10 or so Canadian for your American dollar.

re:need hotel for road trip in sept

thanks for all the good tips ...

are there any places you'd say that we absolutely have to see?

we're not there long, obviously the hockey hall of fame is on the list.. but any place else?

Well I for one still love the CN tower. Get their early on a clear day and it is awesome.

If ou had more time I would say check out the islands but with limited time that eats up a lot of it.

Queen West, Yorkville, Younge st are the other locations to hit up. Fun just to wander.
