Not directly related to the Finch W LRT but it does reference long bus trips to the Kipling subway Station. So it will be interesting to see the benefits the LRT brings at connecting people to the subway faster at the Finch West station.
I thought they had the area already constructed when they built Finch West Station.
During the TYSSE project, they only build the TYSSE station box (North-south direction) with connector to the future LRT. The pocket track tunnel south of the TYSSE station is also mined between the two tunnels. Then they just filled the dirt over the intersection.I thought they had the area already constructed when they built Finch West Station.
And second question, where's the placement of the station? I thought they would build it to allow an eastern extension.
Future proofing? TTC/Metrolinx? They haven't done that for over 100 years with the Prince Edward Viaduct. If only we actually planned ahead when designing/building known future transfer stations. Like I get issues with adding new platforms to stations like Eglinton or Queen or Bloor, which were built a long time ago, but it's a shame we didn't plan more for a better transfer station at Finch West.
