I figured this was bound to happen sooner or later.

An application was submitted to convert the 99-unit long-term-stay portion of the Hilton to residential as well as add two 21-storey residential buildings along Clegg Road (currently a parking lot).

This is across the street from the Fontana development, which is under construction: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showth...arden-in-Markham-Ctr-H-amp-W-Dev-2x-16-12-10s)

Mods can we update the thread title to indicate that this is now a massive project with 55s towers:

Goodness...that one building there looks like a kid's slide. 😲

lol. These suburban densities are getting crazy. I thought the block further south on Warden was out to lunch on their density request..

Highway 7 and Warden Avenue has the potential to be a huge anchor node, given it's right where the VIVA Rapidway splits. Lots of development potential here, and if Markham is serious about making this area a downtown, this is a good place to start. The plan as it exists right now is pretty nuts, though - 5 towers over 50 storeys!? And I hope the renders are just representative of massing because those are some downright ugly towers on Courtyard and Clegg.
