Holy cow, I had good coffee today.
Intellegentsia coffee is on the north side of College just east of Bathurst. The store's claim to fame is an unusual coffee press called a Clover where the barrista has to whisk the coffee grind as piping hot water is injected through. It sort of replaces the traditional drip coffee maker but it retains all that coffee goodness that usually gets lost like that earthly acidic taste of the beans.
The owner gave me a demo of his machine and when I told him I didn't have to mask the cup with any sugar, his eyes opened wide and he talked excitedly with me about coffee for 15 minutes before letting me go. It was fascinating.
They also make a very good Cafe Americano. It's going to be a long night tonight...
