In a report to the July 7th meeting of CreateTO; a recommendation is made to build a new LTC on a City-Owned site at 4610 Finch Avenue East.

Report here: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2021/ra/bgrd/backgroundfile-168591.pdf

Note that in the above I have included a portion of the existing Fire Station site as that is suggested in the report; though the exact portion of that site being reallocated isn't clear.

Its a public, non-profit LTC, so we're not expecting an architectural treasure.................the above is a hot mess.

Between the towers and the podium I count 4 architectural expressions, who do Montgomery Sisam think they are?, KirKor?

Of the 4, only the left-podium in the above pic is remotely passable to me, a bit dull, but not outright ugly.

The tower forms read as neo-brutalist, except with cheaper materials and a salmon pink that no one should ever be caught applying to any building, anywhere, ever.

The overall massing is passable.........rush it through zoning, but in parallel, get a completely different look worked out before this hits SPA. Gross!

Amen, to the "RUSH IT THRU ZONING" w/ current massing -- and will defer to the aesthetes on how they "pretty-up the Box" -- as long as they are time & budget-conscious in their decisions.

Most importantly, lets determine the Over/Under Odds on if CreateTO and City Planning actually get this project thru Rezoning and Site Plan APPROVALS before the end of 2024..? TBD.
