Have you seen anything around town lately that made you chuckle?

:lol :lol

... for instance, I went to the 'Catherine The Great' show at the AGO.

I walked into the room where the Romanov Coronation Coach is displayed - and I just went, "Ha!"

It is sooooooo outrageous! - garish gold and bright red with paintings all over. I grinned from ear to ear. I wasn't expecting it to have that effect.

Catherine was clever. Talk about a rebranding project! She did a total makeover of the whole country.

I was at Yuk Yuk's a couple of weeks back and Lewis Black from the Daily Show made a surprise appearance. He did the same political schtick, but this time uncensored and with booze in hand. He got so riled up at one point that he ended up spitting all over the people in front of him. Hilarious.

This is a longrunning thing, but the way that sign at Richmond + John says "FUN IS PARAMOUNT", yet the "N" is in a yellow so faint, it reads as "FU IS PARAMOUNT".

Reminds me of that old MAD thing on burnt-out neon signs, like "IVORY SOAP 99 44/100 PU[re] ", or "YOU CAN [be] SU[r]E IF IT"S WESTINGHOUSE"

A couple of years ago there was a sign over an store in Chinatown East that read:

"AQUALIUM"

Then it was corrected to:

"AQUARIUM"

And now it reads:

"AQUA IUM"

A month ago I was walking along Bay St. and a lady was ranting about the state of the city a few paces back. For 2 blocks, all I heard was Toronto is disgusting, bums and lowlifes have taken over, Toronto is a shit hole, look at that filthy hobo over there, and she just went on and on. It was hilarious.

Something odd I noticed today: over on Bedford, the house that replaced Norman Elder's pad has wrought iron fencing with what can charitably be described as a "penis pattern".

His spirit lives on, I guess...
