Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

if the lrt is to go beyond brampton go I would like to see it go up main the west vodden then north on the obry up to the southfield village in caledon. I imagine service on this portion would be infrequent and would mostly be used as a light commuter service to connect northern brampton to the go line. the obry sections could be like the ion waterloo spur. either way not even close to being a priority

The "new" Route 2 is actually a reinstatement of the former route south of Square One before it was combined with the 19.

I wonder why the 19 is being renumbered to 17 though.

Because there will be some riders that hop on the 19 and expect it to take them to Port Credit. Can’t take for granted the number of riders that are oblivious to changes or new infrastructure.

Pictures taken Saturday of the Hurontario MSF site from the 407 closer to Kennedy Road. I didn’t think construction was starting here yet, but there seemed to be some activity and construction trailers. Is it LRT-related?

That is the MSF and a lot further from the 407 Loop I was at yesterday to see if the work has started as stated. Need to take a drive there tomorrow to see if I can get any shots.

All the medium from 407 to Matheson is mostly removed except at the lights and the 401 bridge. A few spots still needs to be graded along with the first coat of asphalt. The rest to north of the 401 overpass still need the 2nd coat and the rest south has the 2nd coat.

Until traffic installs construction lights, can't finish removing rest of the mediums. Until this is done, going to be hard to do any real road construction that will require traffic to be shifted. Photos to follow.

Still say this first phase of work will be the test bed area for testing cars once they arrive until more of the line is ready for them.

The photo above is of MSF and it next to Kennedy Rd. Surprise how close it is to Kennedy, with Kennedy being the main entrance to it. There is a driveway about 500 feet south of the Gate 1 entrance you can park to have a look at the site.

The site has a fence along the 407, next to the plan 407 BRT may go. It is east of the old driving range. Not much is taking place as they are sitting up the construction office site as well for workers to park.

Have 310 photos in front of today photos and will be up in the next day or 2..

Most the photos were taken from the ground and didn't have time to take the ground ones for the finish section that were shot from the car.

Crew from Bot Construction where looking are the area north of Sq One Dr at Hurontario where support columns are to be built to support the elevated section on Friday. May see work start on the elevated section start this year.

There was a note in this coming week Council meeting requiring a bylaw to enter into a MOU with Metrolinx for a BRT Line and no idea where it is for, other than the City Core or to 407

The MOU is for the Dundas BRT. The city will run the project with Metrolinx Assistance. It’s moving forward. Announcement coming. Later this year, Daft business case from Metrolinx coming for Mississauga transitway Downtown connection including a large terminal for MiWay, Go Bus, HuLRT & Transitway.

Additionally, if you look at Mississauga’s Tenders, they are hiring consultants for the new Rapid transit office they are setting up to support all of these projects.

They are also requesting to do the first 2km on Lakeshore. I would not do it. 2km is not substantial enough. Would move funding to complete Dundas BRT 100% or use it for the terminal now
