How small can condo units in Toronto get?

wow ... those are small but it is intended for short-term stays.

a sleeping pod, no more ... common washrooms, no kitchen, etc ... more like hostels.
i wonder if people in North America would consider this cruel if we had this set up for homeless shelters?
