The destruction of one of my favourite buildings in the city (The Kenson Apartments) inspired me to visit the area and snap some pics of Women's College Hospital and the Women's College Hospital Foot Care Centre before city planners and developers get their dirty little hands on them.

I love these buildings: beauty is in the details.

I am not pleased with the 2015 revamp for WCH. But, alas...

Thanks for the pics. Are those last two pics of the same building? It's going to be torn down?

I always found the area around WCH to be quite charming with all the old brick buildings around. It's a shame the sterilization of the city is spreading to these parts too. I guess it's "progress". Although that's what they called the urban renewal of the 50s and 60s as well.

I remember speaking to an architect from Diamond et al a couple of years ago about the WCH development plans. I tried to convince her that the old buildings were worth preserving - she wasn't convinced. Now it looks like they're trashing everything around there.

Great pics but it is not really the "Foot Care Building". Foot care is one of many departments in the building. A far larger one is the Family Practice and there are many labs too. Foot Care is on (part of) the main floor.

My GP's office was in there for over 20 years until he moved up to Yonge & Balmoral. I really liked the building too, Grosvenor Street had a certain charm between Bay & Queens Park and offered a quiet refuge from the bustling city by day, and night.
