Aside from helping its progressive/regressive leaders extract income from Toronto - speakers fees, grants, donations, attention - its hard to see what contribution BLM makes. Its driving a wedge between Blacks and non-Blacks, not because of its supposedly anti-racist stance, but because its leaders are left-leaning, LBTG ideologues who roll every grievance into one big sullen stance.

Case in point. The arrest of a drunken, white bigot who harassed an Islamic South Asian family at the Ferry terminal. Leaders of Toronto’s Islamic and Jewish communities simply applauded the arrest. Naturally, Black Action Defense Committee’s Kingsley Gilliam weighed-in with a gloomy, indeed grave view: “…now 43 years later (anti-hate legislation) we see white racists attacking non-whites in public spaces in Ontario. Have we progressed or regressed?”

Self-appointed Black leaders, who I’m not convinced reflect the views of their broader community, are continuing to drive their personal agendas with their demoralizing defeatist mind-set.
