Again - I don't think anyone is asking for anything tall-ER, only more building of similar heights to what is aready going in. I've been trying to get you to define what you meant by them being afraid of tall buildings, but you instead answer different questions. Are we talking 30-40 story being too tall? Yes or no, please.

What we're seeing as targets by the city aren't even tall (in the 30-40 story sense, which should not be an issue), is that they want in-fill in the 6-10 story range. I can see that being suitable for some of the Sq1 parking lots, but not for lands bordering Hurontario or Burnhamthorpe. This particular parcel will be in between commercial buildings with 18 stories and residential towers nearing 40 stories, so I don't see why they should fear or steer development away from buldings in this height range and if Greenpark wants to put in a mere 12s like other projects, it makes no sense to me. The land is too valuable and they'll want the height.

I guess this is the generic MCC thread for new development.

Anyone have any tidbits of new developments in 2012 for the city centre? Outside of phase 2 of the Sheridan College expansion, things seem really really quiet.

I thought this land was reserved for office space on the corner. Maybe this particular plan doesn't involved the corner plot. I know the official city model shows buildings along Burnhamthorpe west of this spot.

Based on whats been posted to the Mississauga Development Map Website , no indication of an application to city yet as there is no "application dot" on the site. I Didn't know they had a development map but good to see. Would be helpful if they had linked reports to the site info tabs like Toronto Dev map does.

Searched through Council and Planning and Development Committee agendas going back to September 2013 and didn't find mention of the subject property so I assume reports will likely come soon

I like it! It will easily be the best looking project on that side of Burnhamthorpe in terms of the streetscape. Good to see the continuation of Main Street's retail along the site too!
