So with our last day in Europe, we took it easy and visited Ulm once again since we only saw a small part of it, very quickly. Luckily for us, the city was celebrating Baden-Württemberg day. The square in front of Ulm Münster was filled with people drinking, eating and having a good time.
The parking lot under Münster. Again, it's very well intergrated into the site showing different paintings and old artifacts found on the site during the excavation.
A joke momument to Albert Einstein. One stone = Ein stein
There's even some brutalism.
A new private development along the riverfront.
Inside the Münster.
I then ventured up the 768 steps to the top.
Looking down at the celebration below.
Looking up at the massive stained glass window.
The first and lowest of 4 viewing platforms.
Better shot of the platz in front of Münster.
Not high enough. I think this is the 2nd level coming from the bottom.
Still one more level to go. This is looking up from the 3rd level.
Again, the view from the 3rd level.
This is as high as you can go. The 4th level. It's a really tight squeeze with maybe no more than 40cm of width between the wall and the edge. When it gets crowded, it becomes very uncomfortable to get through.
The new museum.
The public library.
The retirement home.
Looking up to the spire.
To celebrate our visit to Germany, we went to a local restaurant just outside of Ulm in the town of Blaustein. The place is also a fishery. They then take fresh fish and cook them right on the spot.
And that's the end to this trip. Hope you all enjoyed taking part of this journey and maybe saw some things that you never saw or heard about.
Cheers!
