Nov 24 2016: Work on the bridge continues. Looks like work will soon begin on the deck. (re-post due to uploading issue)

Months later, Dufferin has reopened and work up top is done… it's just that what's up top won't be opened itself for a while. The widening will allow the laying of another track in the Kitchener/Milton/Barrie/UP Express corridor, while on this side of a sound wall there's a new piece of the West Toronto Railpath just waiting for extensions to be completed both to the northwest and to the southeast. Here's how it looked yesterday evening:

I'm really glad that this is finished. It is good in so many ways.

But that safety screen over the roadway just looks....lame.

Lets's hope it gets improved in years to come.

They are finally working on the park. Work started almost a month ago.

That park was to be finished last year, yet it will be 2020 before it opens.

If you read the current notice on Peel, it state the agreement was signed Nov 22, 2019 and it was to expired May 2019

I last shot the site on Oct 10, 2019 and those shots are still in my backlog, considering I am only doing Sept 11 shots now.

Advantage tactile plates (US based) - also on many of our street corners. Hopefully they won in a bidding process otherwise our steel plants lost out.

?‍♂️ What a ridiculous oversight. I guess if you don't want to walk your bike down the stairs you have to cross the bridge, go down the ramp on the west side, and cross back at Pears.

I don't know about the bidding process, but there were multiple vendors invited to test on street corners around downtown about ten years ago and at the end they went with these. "Our" steel plants only lose out if they have surplus capacity which they shouldn't if properly run.

Am I crazy in thinking most railpath entrances that're bicycle accessible are off the main streets? Can you get into Bloor or Dupont directly without having to dismount and go down some stairs? Other than one entrance north of both streets. I don't use the railpath often.
