So an update since I originally started this thread.

Alderwood Plaza (427/Browns Line & Evans) - Got a facelift last year and is doing much better. Anchor tenants are Top Food Supermarket & a Dollarama.

At Woodbine, they still haven't built a Target there yet.
Zellers closed down a while ago when all the rest were, but the Target still has yet to be built.

Meanwhile, Westwood is supposed to be getting quite the makeover. Wal-mart opened right next to it (Why it's not actually attached is beyond me), but the mall itself seems fairly quiet for now.

Location
Near the North York, York, & Old Toronto tripoint
Lawrence Square Shopping Centre (aka "the poor man's Yorkdale") is much emptier ever since Zellers closed up (no tenant took its place even). One of the parody Toronto subway maps called it "Boring Mall."

Target is rumoured to take over that space, but it is too small for Target's needs.

However, there are plans to demolish the mall, which opened in 1989, and replace it with an extension of Marlee Avenue to Yorkdale. It would also include new retail for the lower-income bracket as well.

Why is St. Clair the "evil LRT?"

It's about time. This area can use a redevelopment on this site, which will help spur additional intensification.

I am not sure, but I think Promenade got sold to the yogun fruz brothers and they are going to take it down and build condos

Vaughan Mills seems to do quite well but for some reason Promenade never quite took off

Yea, I know dead thread but wanted too add to the list. Despite all my great childhood memories there, Malvern Town Centre looks to be on the dying list. Its been happening for a while. It's still clean inside and decently maintained but it's definitely showing its age and no longer attracting the best stores.

This mall back in the day had quite a bit going for it. A couple of banks, major grocery store (No Frill's), Shopper's Drug Mart, Zellers, BiWay, decent for the time food court as well as many other well known retailers. As of 2017, Zellers and BiWay are long gone, most of the banks have left (Scotia remains), Shoppers moved across the street on their own spot and I just found out No Frills intends to follow them.

A damn shame what inept management did to this place.

No issue here with bringing a dead thread to life whenever it's the best place to reignite the conversation!

The sad little mall at Queensway/Kipling is dying a slow death - mind you I think it has the only remaining Zellers store in Canada (all the logos, etc are still there and I believe its functioning as a discount bin store for HBC).

I bought a fantastic 7.5 ft prelit Christmas tree there last year for 50 bucks.
