I have a particular fascination with the "decline years" of East Danforth which I define as 1960 to 2010. It reached its low point around 2005-2006 with the final closure of the final incarnation of the Allenby/Roxy.

Akropol Greek Bakery in Greektown from a series of photos surveying all the traditional Greek businesses on that part of the Danforth from the late 1980s. Many of them are gone now.

In the late 1980s, there were still single-family houses that weren't storefronts right on the Danforth in greektown (see 456 Danforth at left in the upper photo).
