The preliminary evaluation reports for the Adelaide and Richmond Cycle Track pilot project are out. I know there's a heavy focus on the TTC and roads in this forum, but cycling represents a key way forward to grow existing transportation capacity without increasing roadway volume. What's stunning is the graph on the front page showing the increase in cycling volume. The latest data point isn't even on the graph yet. For example, Adelaide went from a pre-cycle track volume of it looks like about ~500 cyclists per day before the cycle track to the latest data point of 2,200 cyclists per day! If you were to plot this on the graph, I'd say we haven't reached steady state…it would appear to be linearly increasing even.

The extension of the cycle tracks to Parliament will come up before the Public Works Committee next week.

There's still plenty of discussion to be had about cycle tracks in Toronto, in particular the gaps in the network, but I'd say this great progress.
